School year opening ceremonies took place at educational institutions across the DPRK, from the capital city to the remote mountain villages and islet villages on April 1.
All education officials and teachers have devoted their wisdom and enthusiasm to preparing for the new school year to implement the second universal 12-year compulsory education programme and the educational programmes of universities according to subjects.
Schoolchildren in all parts of the country, including new pupils of primary and junior middle schools, went to school, wearing new uniforms and carrying Sonamu schoolbags, Mindulle notebooks and Haebaragi-branded school things they received free of charge from the state.
Officials of the Party, government organs and relevant institutions, along with teachers and students, welcomed the newcomers by presenting them with bouquets.
Ahead of the new school year’s opening ceremonies, universities, colleges, and other schools conducted national flag-raising ceremonies.
At the school-opening ceremonies, speakers emphasized that the DPRK, under the leadership of the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, will develop into a country that prospers through education.
Schoolchildren expressed their determination to study hard and do their best to contribute to the country in the future.
Following the ceremonies, the first lessons of the new school year began.
