Cooking Festival Draws Public Attention

The 29th National Cooking Festival was held at Hwasong Restaurant in Pyongyang from March 31 to April 3 to mark the April holiday, drawing the attention of experts and amateurs.

Participants included cooks, waiters and waitresses, and housewives from across the country. More than 600 dishes and beverages, along with over 130 scientific and technological achievements related to culinary work, were presented during the festival.

The program featured a cookery show intended to share cooking technology and experience, as well as presentations of holiday dishes, regional specialties, and health-oriented cuisine.

An exhibition of culinary science and technology displayed inventions and methods aimed at putting the cookery on a scientific and modern basis in the form of objects, visual aids and multimedia.

The festival also included competitions for cooks and restaurant staff, cooking demonstrations, and a culinary contest involving housewives.
