DPRK players returned home on Tuesday after capturing the 2026 AFC U-17 Women’s Asian Cup title in China.
The triumph was the team’s fifth in the tournament and earned it a place at the 2026 FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup.
The players were welcomed at Pyongyang International Airport by senior Party and government officials, officials in the field of sports and relevant sectors, fellow athletes and their families.
Athletes presented the players and coaches with flower bouquets and placed garlands around their necks, congratulating them on their success.
As the bus carrying the players passed through the streets of Pyongyang, residents and students warmly greeted the team, celebrating its achievement in bringing honor to the country.
The players and coaches responded with warm greetings to the crowds.
