Kim Jong Un, president of the State Affairs of the DPRK, hoped that the Korean women would be happy and healthy and remain beautiful as he addressed a performance given at Pyongyang Indoor Stadium in the country’s capital city on March 8 in commemoration of International Women’s Day. He delivered an impressive speech to congratulate women across the country on their holiday.
His speech was consistent from A to Z with his heartfelt praise of the charms of the Korean women, which are not simply about their beautiful appearance.
Today they are devoting themselves as strenuously as the men to national prosperity in all sectors of socialist construction. There are many countries in the world, but none of them will probably make such remarkable progress as the DPRK is now achieving in the face of the persistent and unprecedentedly harsh blockade and sanctions by hostile forces.
As he sees that the women’s affection and devotion have served as the strength to overcome all those difficulties and hardships, Kim Jong Un expressed so sincere gratitude to them. Maybe the Korean people are seeing in the images of their grandmothers’ and mothers’ generations the tenacity with which they have gone against all odds, and the strength of genuine love and benevolent affection which they have cherished while bringing up their children undauntedly. Also, when seeing the faces of the women of the new generation, they are feeling the fresh vigour, optimism and self-confidence with which to overcome trials cheerfully.
In his speech Kim Jong Un said that though physically weak, Korean women are obviously strong-willed, their plain faces assuming courage and the wrinkles on them denoting their strenuous exertion and thus arousing much greater respect. So, he noted, they look incomparably beautiful, and I think this is a charm unique to our Korean women.
He earnestly requested the women to work to make the country more harmonious and prosperous by dint of love and devotion in the future, too.
The Korean people are always committed to national prosperity and determined to unhesitatingly sacrifice even their lives to this end. Kim Jong Un believes that it is because they are eager to bring not an iota of shame on their dear mothers, wives, girlfriends or daughters, whom they associate with the sacred appellation motherland. He is convinced that encouraged by the warm care of such women and thanks to their peculiar strength, talent and most ennobling self-sacrificing devotion, the country is progressing much faster.
That is why he extended his special thanks to the women across the country in his speech on the occasion of their holiday.
