The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un makes a concluding speech at the Eighth Congress of the WPK in January 2021. In the report at the congress, he set forth the task of basically solving the housing problem for the Pyongyang citizens by building 10 000 flats every year from 2021, concentrating efforts on the construction of 50 000 flats in the capital city of Pyongyang.
The eighth term of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea is resplendent with the sacred imprints of a struggle of grand construction that opened up a new era of transformation unprecedented in the history of the Party.
The Eighth Party Congress and other Party meetings including the Fourth Plenary Meeting of the Eighth WPK Central Committee set forth gigantic tasks of building modern houses in the capital city and rural communities and of building regional-industry factories, advanced public health facilities, leisure complexes and grain storage stations for regional rejuvenation.
True to the grand construction plan of the Party Central Committee, wonderful new streets appeared every year in the capital city while modern houses were built in rural villages throughout the country. In addition, regional-industry factories that sustain the features peculiar to the respective cities and counties were inaugurated; they constitute firm foundations for accelerating the independent development of the regional economy and for improving material living standards of the regional people.
Heralding the start of the public health revolution in the new era, Pyongyang General Hospital and other modern hospitals in several cities and counties were inaugurated to contribute to the promotion of the people’s health, and large-scale greenhouse farms and livestock bases were built as model ones representing the advanced feature of the socialist countryside.
The Wonsan Kalma Coastal Tourist Area, the Samjiyon Tourist Resort and other bases for tourism and leisure activities were built, presenting new landscapes symbolic of the golden age of efflorescence of socialist civilization.
The inexhaustible potentials of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and the truthfulness and validity of the people-first politics of the WPK were fully demonstrated in the course of carrying out the huge and gigantic construction projects.
Fully convinced and optimistic about the fact that when they advance following the leadership of the Party they will be able to greet a more prosperous future and enjoy a more affluent life, the Korean people are making strenuous efforts to hasten the comprehensive development and prosperity of their country.
