The Korean Children’s Union, a mass political organization of schoolchildren who are the future and hope of our state and people, is proudly marking its 80th founding anniversary in its history of glorious succession and growth.

The KCU has steadily developed into the ranks of juvenile revolutionaries and patriots who are firmly carrying on the revolution and patriotism generation after generation, adding luster to the sacred history and tradition created in the battlefields of Mt Paektu, for the past 80 years since it was founded as the Juche-oriented children’s revolutionary organization in the first period of nation building.

A conference in commemoration of the 80th KCU founding anniversary was held with splendor at Kim Il Sung Stadium in the capital city of Pyongyang on June 6 amid special concern and expectation of the Party, government and people.

Marshal Kim Jong Un, the benevolent father of all the schoolchildren across the country, attended the conference.

When Marshal Kim Jong Un appeared on the platform, the schoolchildren broke into cheers as an expression of their highest honour and pride of significantly commemorating the founding anniversary of the KCU with the fatherly Marshal, whom they yearned for even in their dreams, in presence and fireworks were set off, rocking the stadium.

The reporter said that the KCU members are celebrating the auspicious founding anniversary of their organization with the greatest joy and happiness and it is the honor that they can receive only under the care of the motherly WPK which brings earlier the prosperous ideal society with love and sincerity for the rising generation. He referred to the proud 80-year history of the KCU which has recorded all the annals of its founding and development with patriotic loyalty.

He said that the KCU members are growing up to be juvenile revolutionaries and patriots dynamically advancing along the road of patriotism as they are holding in high esteem the fatherly Marshal who pursues the socialist policy for schoolchildren as the consistent policy of the Party and the eternal state policy of the DPRK and takes warm care of them so that they can learn with nothing more to desire, grow up excellently and bring their hope and talents into full bloom.

When the Marshal finished his speech, the members of the KCU, who received great love and trust from the benevolent father, broke into enthusiastic cheers of “Hurrah!”

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, inspected a major munitions industrial enterprise on June 6 to acquaint himself with the main weapons production in the first half of 2026.

Accompanying him were Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the WPK Central Committee, Kim Jong Sik, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, Jang Chang Ha, general director of the Missile Administration, Pak Jong Chon, advisor to the Ministry of National Defence, Kim Kang Il, vice-minister of National Defence and director of the General Armaments Bureau, Kim Yong Hwan, president of the Academy of Defence Sciences, and leading officials of the Missile Administration.

Comrade Kim Jong Un highly praised the enterprise for fulfilling its first half-yearly plan for the main weapons production ahead of schedule and putting spurs to the preparations for the production in the second half of the year.

That day, he heard a report on the Missile Administration’s long-term plan for expanding the capacity to produce various ballistic missiles and cruise missiles and gave an instruction to submit it to the Second Plenary Meeting of the Ninth Central Committee of the WPK for deliberation.

It is necessary to boost the existing production capacity 2.5 times within the Five-Year Plan period on an annual growth basis in order to supply enough quantity of missiles the demand for which will drastically increase as our armed forces’ operational group formation and combat organization are to be modified, he said, stressing that it is a core task of very important significance.

Underlining the need for the enterprise to establish the strict regulations and order for quality control and thoroughly observe the requirements of the inspection process so as to further improve the quality of products, he gave a series of instructions for its production and management.

He was accompanied by Jo Chun Ryong, secretary of the Central Committee of the WPK, Kim Jong Sik, first vice department director of the WPK Central Committee, Pak Kwang Sop, commander of the Navy, Pak Jong Chon, advisor to the Ministry of National Defence, Kim Kang Il, vice-minister of National Defence and director of the General Armaments Bureau, Jang Chang Ha, general director of the Missile Administration, Kim Yong Hwan, president of the Academy of Defence Sciences, Kim Myong Son, director of the Armaments Examination Bureau of the Ministry of National Defence, commanding officers of the Navy and senior officials in the field of shipbuilding.

Comrade Kim Jong Un boarded the Destroyer Kang Kon and learned about the actual conditions of various combat duty spaces and elements of the destroyer including the combined control center, the plan for the navigation test and the phased schedule of the test of the warship’s weapon systems.

A navigation test was conducted to assess different maneuvering elements of the destroyer with Comrade Kim Jong Un on board the warship.

Comrade Kim Jong Un praised the sailors for their high ability to operate the warship and expressed satisfaction over the cruise and high-speed maneuvering systems of the warship whose maneuverability is very good to meet operational requirements.

Referring to the global trend of the developing shipbuilding industry and the structural features of warship design, he clarified the important tasks for further perfecting the warship control system in our own way so as to meet the requirements for the performance of operational mission of our Navy.

It is possible to deter war and defend peace only when we possess substantial and powerful military muscle capable of exercising military sovereignty in a responsible manner in any space of the ground, the sea and the air, he said, adding this is the invariable view of the WPK and its national defence policy.

In particular, the issue of rapidly developing and strengthening the naval force of the DPRK into a force capable of reliably taking charge of a part of the nuclear war deterrent and into a group that can deal a deadly blow at the enemy any moment under the water or on the water is a matter which the WPK regards as the most important core task in the new five-year national defence development policy, he said.

Comrade Kim Jong Un expressed great trust and expectation that the vast plans for bolstering up the warship force, including the development and production of underwater secret weapons and the building of 10 000-tonnage destroyers under the five-year plan for modernizing the Navy approved by the Ninth Congress of the WPK, would be surely carried out by our reliable and powerful defence science research group, self-supporting shipbuilding industry and competent and intelligent workers in the munitions industry.

He warmly encouraged the officials, scientists and technicians of warship and weapon system research organs, hoping that they will successfully conduct the shakedown for assessing the operational executive capability of the destroyer and put the destroyers Choe Hyon and Kang Kon into commission for the Navy as soon as possible with an honorable sense of obligation and high sense of responsibility.

The respected Comrade Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and President of the State Affairs of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, gave field guidance at the newly-inaugurated nuclear materials production factory on June 3.

He was accompanied by leading officials of the munitions industry department of the WPK Central Committee and the Nuclear Weapons Institute of the DPRK.

Going round new production lines based on more sophisticated technology, Comrade Kim Jong Un learned about the factory’s operation indices and its long-term production plan.

He highly appreciated the fact that the nuclear materials production sector is correctly implementing the decisions adopted at recent plenary meetings of the WPK Central Committee.

He praised the group of nuclear experts for having provided a firm guarantee to improve the efficiency of all system elements in the production line and further strengthen the foundation for the production of weapons-grade nuclear materials by settling the problems decisive in putting the production of nuclear materials on a Juche basis.

Saying that the weapons-grade nuclear materials production capacity more than doubled during the past 5-year course of bolstering up the nuclear force under the direct guidance of the Eighth Central Committee of the WPK, he expressed satisfaction over the fact that the WPK’s line of bolstering up nuclear forces is being thoroughly carried out thanks to the high technical capability developed by the nuclear science research group.

He recalled that the Ninth Congress of the WPK adopted a strategic decision to further expand the nuclear materials production capacity and continue to increase the nuclear arsenals in line with the prospective demand of the DPRK’s nuclear force, when deciding on a new five-year plan for the strengthened nuclear force to steadily enhance the country’s nuclear war deterrent.

The peculiarities of the Korean revolution inevitably accompanied by long-term confrontation with the most ferocious enemies, the existing threats getting more serious every moment, potential threats and unpredictable long-term crises further highlight the urgency and responsibility of the historic mission to bolster up both in quality and quantity and in a sustained and accelerated way the nuclear war deterrent, the basic guarantee and strong safety device for reliably ensuring the security, interests and development rights of the country, he noted.

Very clear is the stand taken by our Party and government to deal with all these complex changes in the subjective and objective environments and actively cope with them, and accordingly, it is the invariable political and military stand and responsible duty we should maintain to further expand and strengthen the state nuclear forces, the pivot in implementing the strategy to deter a war and fight a war, and thoroughly exercise the position of a nuclear weapons state, he declared.

That day, there was an important consultative meeting for bolstering up the nuclear forces.

Comrade Kim Jong Un made an important conclusion clarifying the action guidelines for rapidly accelerating the qualitative and quantitative strengthening of the DPRK’s nuclear forces, saying that the conditions in which the nuclear materials production capacity has greatly expanded and the development of sophisticated nuclear technology create a mature environment for going into the new next-stage of bolstering up the nuclear forces and they offer the possibility of carrying out larger plans.

Finishing his important conclusion, Comrade Kim Jong Un said:

“Today we have updated the digits that are critical for our nuclear activities, and discussed some key matters.

In doing so, we have comprehensively considered the tactical and strategic requirements for building up our nuclear deterrent and, on the basis of this, adopted a highly responsible and crucial decision.

We have confirmed the order of priority for implementing the ambitious future plan designed to beef up our state’s nuclear forces at an exponential rate, as well as a requisite guarantee for the purpose.

This signifies an amazing, successful change that is beyond rhetorical description, a historic event that has set up an epochal milestone in rapidly upgrading our nuclear capabilities.

This nuclear potential that we have now is inconceivable apart from the worthwhile struggle we have conducted over the past five years.

Today, I would like to pay tribute, once again, to our nuclear scientists.”

He stressed that the DPRK will as ever more thoroughly and more courageously take action to defend its constitution and sovereignty and reliably ensure the security of the state by exercising in a responsible manner the inviolable authority granted by the DPRK Constitution.

He expressed expectation and belief that the DPRK’s group of nuclear experts would remain faithful to the fulfillment of the sacred mission for the perfect implementation of the decision adopted by the Party for the security of the country in the present and in the future.

Comrade Kim Jong Un’s inspection of the new nuclear materials production factory serves as an important occasion in clearly highlighting once again the invariable will of our Party and state to bolster up the nuclear forces in order to guarantee the country’s security and right to development, deter war and defend the regional and global peace and stability by highly developing the nuclear weapons, and the great potentialities and unlimited prospect.
