Senior State Officials Visit Families of War Veterans Ahead of Victory Day

As the DPRK commemorates the 73rd anniversary of victory in the Great Fatherland Liberation War, amid nationwide reverence for the victorious wartime generation, senior officials visited the families of war veterans on July 23 and 24.

Pak Thae Song, a member of the Presidium of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea and premier of the Cabinet, together with other senior officials of the Party and government and armed forces organs warmly congratulated the veterans on the war victory day.

They spoke about the Party’s deep care for the war veterans, who defended the country, wrote the first chapter of the Republic’s victorious history, and continue to set an example for future generations through their lives and struggle.

The officials said that it is the duty of future generations to respect the victorious wartime generation, who showed through their actions how to defend and glorify the country. On behalf of the people across the country, they also expressed their gratitude to the families of war veterans for their devoted care of the veterans.

The veterans asked the officials to remain loyal to the leadership of the Party Central Committee as it leads the country toward lasting prosperity. They also expressed their deep thanks to the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un for regarding them as dear teachers who made great history and for bringing them the greatest glory and happiness.
