
Children across the DPRK joyfully welcomed International Children’s Day on June 1.
Children at nurseries, kindergartens, baby homes and orphanages throughout the capital and across the country spent a joyful holiday surrounded by the care and affection of nurses, kindergarten teachers and parents.
On their holiday, children at Pyongyang Baby Home, Pyongyang Orphanage, Kim Jong Suk Nursery, Kyongsang Kindergarten and Changgwang Kindergarten received apples and pears provided by the Workers’ Party of Korea.
During artistic performances, children across the country sang songs including “We Yearn for Marshal Kim Jong Un” and performed dances to a variety of musical pieces.
The children took part in various sports, folk and recreational games. Among the activities were team competitions featuring “Chong” (blue) and “Hong” (red) teams and “Aircraft” and “Tank” teams. The sight of the children’s joyful play delighted the spectators.
On the same day, commercial service establishments, parks and amusement venues in all parts of the DPRK were crowded with children spending a pleasant time with their parents.
