On Feb. 28, chief secretaries of city and county committees of the Workers’ Party of Korea and chairpersons of city and county people’s committees from across the DPRK visited the Samgwang Livestock Farm under the North Phyongan Provincial Rural Economy Committee. The farm has recently been developed into a modern livestock production base. The visit took place shortly after the Ninth Congress of the WPK, which outlined a new strategy for advancing the country’s socialist development.
As part of a broader rural development initiative led by the respected Marshal Kim Jong Un, Samgwang-ri has been dramatically transformed, showing the new level of Korean-style rural civilization and the orientation of development of the animal husbandry.
The senior city and county officials looked round different places of the farm including the first branch, protected cultivation floor and dairy goods production ground. They were briefed on the fact that all the requirements of the Party for the modernization of animal husbandry have been met in the whole course of production and management activities.
Touring the production facilities where all the factors for the development of animal husbandry have been effectively implemented, they learned about the orientation and ways to build new stockbreeding bases in conformity with the characteristics and conditions of their regions, push ahead with modernization of existing facilities and radically increase the production of livestock products.
